On Thursday, March 17th (St. Patrick’s Day), I had the good fortune to be at Wear It Out Manuel! located on 1001 Dickerson Pike in Nashville. I was there for a Model Call hosted by Doll House Modeling Agency. They were casting models for Manny’s Wine Wednesday event that will be held at Wear It Out Manuel! on March, 30th in conjunction with Nashville Fashion Week.
My purpose for being there was simply to observe and write a little blog on the Model Call itself. But while models meandered in and out visiting with the crew from Doll House, something amazing was happening and I was there to witness it!! Manny was doing what he does best, creating and designing. Manny had some cool batik looking fabric that was just waiting to come to life. While there, Manny decided to make a vest out of the fabric for none other than Paul McDonald, American Idol semifinalist.
Luckily, I had my camera and was able to take photos of the entire process while Manny explained each step and even let me help! First thing he did, was take the vest pattern pieces and cut the fabric out. Next, he applied a backing fabric, then ironed it so that it would stay in place.
Then, Manny sewed the two pieces together.
The next step of the process was to make pockets. Cause, ya know Paul has to have someplace to keep his m$ney and guitar picks.
Oh, yeah and don’t forget the lining!
